Is there a comprehensive list of the entrants at this meet? Who is with Galen in the 2 mile? 800? Mile?
How are we supposed to get excited about the sport if we can't hype up head to head match-ups or at least know who else is in the field?

i agree the entire elite fields should be listed, not just a handful of stars. that way the fans know if it will be a real race or a glorified appearance/training run.
Well, it's been advertised that Allyson Felix is dropping the Millrose Games to do the Tyson meet...

It's only indoors. T&F doesn't begin for another 7-8 weeks.
Or click on an event on the schedule: http://www.armorytrack.com/Meet/50/The-Millrose-Games-at-The-Armory/#sked

felix says I HAVE DECIDED, so it was her decision NOT NIKE flexing its muscle like it says on the front page of letsrun.
C'mon Douglas.

Riiiiiiight.
I think part of it is VCB and part of it was probably money. I just wonder how much $$$ Felix and VCB are getting to go at it head-to-head this early in an Olympic year.
Also interesting to see Chandra Stirrup, 40+ masters athlete in there. She has a child perhaps as old as some of her competitors.
It's more about how much money Allyson stood to lose by not showing up to Tyson.

Depends on the incentives in her contract. She has a contract supposed to be with $1 million. Neither Allyson nor Nike can go back on what they agreed to.
But it is not normal so see this high of a profile contest (probably #2 to Bolt-Gay or Bolt-Blake now in track and field) this early, and it normally involves money that few RDs (except Nike) can afford. Too bad we can't have Jet in the same race.
Galen who?
Remember in the 70s, when athletes were pissed that the AAU told them when and where they could run? Look how far we've progressed. Why, it's the sponsors that tell them now...
From the USATF Project 30 report:
Too many athletes let others make decisions about their careers for them: they don’t plan their goals and seasons in advance; agents choose them rather than vice versa; shoe companies choose their coaches for them. In short, support teams are in charge of the athletes, but the opposite should be the case.
But, although I like racing at The Armory personally, if I was Allyson facing racing VCB on national TV for probably more money, compared to racing Lauryn Williams for probably less money with no TV coverage, it would be a no-brainer.
