Common question: "How much do you run, anyway?"
Good answer: "Oh, pretty much every day."
Most girls will be impressed by the commitment of a motivated guy, and anyone who has a problem with daily runs is NOT going to be a prospect for a runner.
Don't talk about miles - way too nerdy, unless she runs, too.
DON'T mention two-a-days on first date, as believe me the "normal world" sees this as crazy.
Oh, and have the balls to say this is about you and not a "training friend" mmKay?
If he really wants to brag without turning her off with details, even go as far as answering "how much do you run, anyway?" with "Well I run pretty much every day. I'm competitive on the local racing scene and I like to stay in good shape."
Don't bore her with details, but make it clear that it's more than a casual hobby (if it is in fact more than a hobby). Don't mention any wins or prize money unless she specifically asks. Be as vague as possible without being sketchy. This doesn't just apply to running; keep an air of mystery, don't be an open book.
