So if 40 -49 athletes are called masters , what are 50-59 runners called; 60-69?

Seniors and super seniors I think.
U20 Juniors
20-39 Seniors
40+ Masters
Old and very old
People who aren't fast enough to run open.
Fast people older than 35 don't need care what slow old farts want to call themselves. They run in open meets. Do you really think Lagat, Somers-Smith, Gault and similar athletes care about this?
I think 50+ is seniors
60+ is vets
Could be wrong.
40+ = masters
50+ = veterans
60+ = seniors (or grand masters)
I'm 52. I ran 16:48 last week for a flat 5k road race. I came in 3rd...OVERALL.
So, I really don't care what you call me. Chances are, I certainly could not hear you that far behind me when I was in my 30's, and then in my 40's. Now, thank God the 20 and 30 year old's are much fatter and lazier for their generation. They make me look good:0
Here's how I learned it:
00-19 Juniors
20-39 Open
40-49 Masters
50-59 Seniors
60-69 Veterans
70+ ... Super-vets?
experienced
In a related story, at a meet once I heard a girl explaining the young age groups (midget, bantam, sub-bantam, etc.) to another young runner something like this:
"OK, so I'm a BATMAN and my little brother is younger so he's a sub-BATMAN, and..."
