It's a boy! And he's five. Beck Laxton, 46, and partner Kieran Cooper, 44, have spent half the decade concealing the gender of their son, Sasha.
"I wanted to avoid all that stereotyping," Laxton said in an interview with the Cambridge News. "Stereotypes seem fundamentally stupid. Why would you want to slot people into boxes?"

Musta been a pretty dumb or sheltered kid not to have figured out on his own by age 5.
What foolishness. Funny how the parents what their kid to be "gender neutral" by having him wear all sorts of feminine styled clothes but they won't allow him to wear overtly masculine clothes. Poor kid will be picked on a lot in school.
I hope they are saving up for a good therapist, because this kid's self-confidence will be destroyed once he enters school.
I'm guessing he won't be the next John Holmes.
This kid is going to be mentally screwed up for sure! He can't be overtly masculine, but he can wear a pink swimsuit? Strange. It's one thing to not "put your child in a box", but totally absurd to ignore their natural gender roles given to them in the womb. How are kids going to function in the "real world" without any boundaries? They're important for any child's development. Why is it the weirdos and irresponsible ones (teen mom) who seem to be reproducing like mad?

That's pretty obvious, isn't it? You drop out of high school and get a job at Target, thinking this will be your life for the next 50 years, and there's nothing left but to start having babies.
Or you have your Jesus freaks who marry the first person they fu\ck, then realize they don't love each other and start having babies to distract themselves from that fact.

so the school is clearly putting up with this crap. if there's a uniform, there's a uniform. You shouldn't make exceptions because the androgynous kid's lesbian parents want him to be gender neutral for their own self-satisfaction.
Anybody want to take a stab at the number of years before all of this gender stuff becomes passe and they move on to species neutrality? Maybe the little boy from the Christmas Story shouldn't have been put in the human box, but instead been allowed to be a little piggy.

I've always been interested by the subtle clues that society gives kids based on their gender but have been told by friends who have kids that there is a huge genetic component to it. Boys start smashing trucks without prompting while girls play sweet with dolls.
I wonder if they would have done all this if the child were female. Would the parents have steered her away from wearing 'overtly feminine' outfits like a pink bathing suit and let her wear fatigues instead?

Does not really make any sense...usually when people figure out they don't like each other, one leaves (usually the dad, very common amongst the black community), they don't start having more sex. Ask any married man, whose marriage is on its way out the door, if he is starting to get more sex.....yeah not hardly.
my kids and all of their friends support the idea that boys and girls are indeed wired differently. the sad fact is that boys are really stupid and girls are really smart. if you watch a large group of kids under 10 years old the boys will all be smashing the legos and toy cars on their heads and laughing (until one finally gets hurt and cries) and the girls will all be readings, coloring, role playing with dolls, or engaged in some other activity that is a lot more creative and intellectual than breaking toys on their own heads and then wondering why they got hurt.

I got two words for you
Eating disorder.
hard to separate all the identification with their own gender models and other clues, which ultimately, coupled with the physical component result in very different behaviors for boys and girls. but playing sweet with dolls? not necessarily. my daughter was saying something this morning about her rabbit being mean and punching and kicking the other dolls!
How does one hide a child's gender? Can you immagine the amount of energy and control you would have to exert every time you met a new person or entered a new situation?
That's going to be the issue in Sasha's family, not his gender identity.
GENDER BENDERS. there are natural laws and principles that just can't be argued or worth resisting.
Males & Females are opposites of eachother with their own set of nice reciprocal skills and qualities.
We def. benefit from eachother. If you are in a state of abuse, that's your problem. Change it.
It seems to me that the wife is sour grapes over not having a penis and that the husband is probbly an onlooking cuckold as his wife stalks women at the Holiday Eve parties.
Examine the handprints in these cave paintings. The length ratio of the 1st and 4th finger are all the same. Decide for yourself whether they were made by a male or female. They are all the same gender.
