I think Browne and Johnson and possibly Russell, but I doubt Magda and Jen Rhines will hang it up until at least after the Track Trials.
Is Ruth Perkins retiring?
After that showing, she should...
Gotta imagine Deena is done in the marathon. Maybe a push for the 10000m at the trial, but I don't see her coming back in either event in 4 years.
Carney is quits for everything after this year.
Vaughn in a tough spot.
Hartmann was practicially invisible after Chicago 2010, then bonked the Trials. That's got to be tought to come back from. Does he even still have his Nike sponsorship?? I heard Nike drops people if they haven't performed in a short time.
Dan Browne has already announced this was his last race. His hip injury is career ending. I think he's going to coach for WCAP now.
Luke Watson. Will be missed amongst the elite circle.

I'm curious as to why you think Vaughn is in a tough spot?
I'm not necessarily in disagreement, just wondering. He is talented and I still think he has loads of potential, especially in the longer races (10k, half and full marathon). It must be noted that he missed several months of training after world cross last year...in reality his marathon training under Jerry was quite brief - maybe only 3-4 months.
He has had one good race in the past few years, and heads will roll as cuts are made after London. It's make or break.

AR holder and a class act, popular and well-spoken, and still among the fastest American women, so I see no reason why Deena should retire. She may not run the marathon trials in 4 years, but I bet we'll see her run several major marathons in the meantime. Sponsors would still be glad to pay her appearance fee.
Magda started her career very late, didn't she? She's still setting PRs on the track so conventional wisdom says she can still improve in the marathon.

Shoe companies will be cleaning house at the end of this year. This happens every Olympic year but will be worse this year. Keep in mind that guys like Bauhs is currently without sponsorship. This is coming off of a year that he made the WC team.
Vaughn is young, talented, and imo has yet to maximize his potential. I do believe if he hasn't seen any fast times by this late spring, he should seriously reconsider going back to Colorado. He running himself into a hole that eventually will get too deep if he doesn't slow himself down.
But Nike is not interested in potential. If you are not ready to deliver NOW, then you are likely to be dropped.
I wonder how many of the Hanson runners will call it quits? I figure Chad Johnson will retire for sure. With the program's main goal being Olympic training, how many more years can some of them hang on. Mike Morgan turns 32 and Luke Humphrey turns 31 this year. Can they hang on for four more years? And Ryan Sheehan is not that old, but he ran very poorly in the trials. Clint Verran is the oldest runner in the program, but he has his own business, and he has already said he is going to try to qualify for his 5th Olympic Trails.
Clint and Chad both retired from competitive running a couple years ago. They are not really part of the Hansons as neither train regular. Chad is around because Melissa is still part of the program and Clint is the team PT.
I have no clue whether Mike or Luke are going to continue or not. Both are married and Mike has a little baby and Luke has one on the way.
I seem to remember something in one of the Flotrack vids where this was Mike's "Hail Mary" race.

Yeah. I don't necessarily think he said that he was done running, but he did say it was his last olympic trials.
