It takes 1:45/1:46 800m speed to compete internationaly in the 1500m.We have Webb in 1:46 shape possibly 1:45 by this summer.Krum has run 1:43.Other than these two americans do we have anyone else.Stember I believe has gone 1:48 recently faster in the past. What about our other 1500m guys,what have they run in the last 18 months?
Forget it. With the exception of Webb and a few others. American middle distance running sucks at present and I don't see it any different when it comes to international level for a long time. God sake the last time we had a decent international 1500m in the US was Steve Holman. I hope Webb puts us on the map again, but the short term outlook is bleak.
