I suppose thats why their have been events all over the world, and continue to be, commemorating THE MILE RUN!
Eh?
You should remove the part of your body attached to your shoulders, from the sand and look at whats going on in the world. There is no event in Track more charsmatic and interesting then THE MILE RUN! There just isn't!
Stop it! The 1500m has been THE Olympic event and THE worldwide event for a LONG time. Some people get so concerned about an uneven amount of laps - what the hell would the mile be? Certainly not an even number of laps, as it would be run on 400m tracks.
And one more thing. If you're going to use a word over and over in your posts - get it right. It's MYSTIQUE!
Yes, we all read "Once A Runner," and yes, Quentin Cassidy ran the MILE in the book. However, he ran the 1500m at the Olympics. It's funny that you talk about restoring the tradition of the mile, but then you mention having Nike sponsor it.
