Every OT there are a couple guys that should be top 10 that just don't have it on race day. What "favorites" did you leave out of your top 10?
I'll start:
Ritz (I'll catch a lot of grief for this)
Abdi

Abdi and one of those long shots will go out too fast or take the pace too early.
Abdi and Olinger
While I wouldn't consider Olinger a favorite or a guy expected to be in the top 10, I'd agree that he'll probably have a tough day out there.
I'm guessing the letsrun.com message board will blow up.

I'll agree with Meb. But why Lehm?
Obvious choice is the crowd favorite, Olinger. It sounds like Wardian has actually trained and tapered for this race and claims to be giving is a serious shot. As much as I like the guy, if he does this I'm feeling major blowup.
I'm thinking Mo Trafeh will be the guy who goes out at 63 minutes and has a 90 second lead at 14 miles. Then has some unpleasantness.
No rationale - just a guess.

Yeah, I could definitely see Trafeh/Smyth blowing up like they did in their London debut
Because Lehm is old. This is likely his last chance to make the team. Why wouldn't he go for top 3 or bust?
it will be ritz if tries to stay with ryan
Ritz and Kara
Olinger
Mo Trafeh is going to blow up SO hard. I will be surprised if he finishes. He will be with/in the lead at the half, but will be nowhere in sight by mile 17. I also think a lot of the guys who are making their marathon debut are gonna drop the ball. Olinger comes to mind. I just can't see him running well.
Ritz might positive split, but he's got the experience and intelligence to know when he's in over his head. He'll still run decently well, but it's laughable that the brojos picked HIM over RYAN HALL (despite the fact that Hall is 100% healthy and Ritz had major surgery + complications only a few months ago). I think Ritz will (probably) still make the team, but no way he wins.
Meb is gonna implode if the pace is hot. You can't run a stellar marathon on 41 days of running. If the pace is slow-ish early on, he could crank 2:11 or 2:12. That might be good enough to get him on the team.

King cobra at the half
Mo and Kara
Remember if anyone blows up, it wasn't me that caused it.

Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
