Bekele should hang 'em up, right?

Don't wake up in a ditch.
Dude, Bekele can easily close the last 800 of a 10,000 in 1:55.
He did close his most recent 10,000m in about 1:56 high.

Here is the article from today's race for those of you that live in a ditch... Bekele placed 12th behind a handful of Brits. Cragg doesn't feel special anymore.
3,000m over 6 foot logs, deep mud and etc. is not "racing" on a track. It has no relevance to anything. It was no different than those stupid mud runs people do in the states. Meaningless because you can't compare the times to anything to determine how much effort someone actually put in. They may as well run up the side a mountain and call that a "race" too. Still wouldn't mean anything compared to running 10,000m on a track.
you are either a troll or have no idea what youre talking about. bekele ran a sub 26:45 10 k in fairly recently and kiprop won the 3k race in 9:20. obviously there was something tactical going on or it was a tough course or both.
Yes he should!!!
With some Olympic and World medals in his bag...just like Webb.
Oh! wait!!!
Results:
Bekele was jogging by the end, seemed content to run in with the pack. No ambition of killing himself to sprint from 11th to some slightly higher non-first position. The course wasn't fast, and probably long, but the fact remains he got beaten by more people in this race than in all of his world champs XC races put together.

MASSIVE RUN BY JONNY HAY!
no KB is in the "resting phase" of the drug cycle.
Sorry, I've lost my faith in the possibility of a Webb resurgence. I could still see it happening for KB because the man straight up dominated the planet for the last decade until recently. But Webb has never medaled on the world stage in any event, ever. I held out hope from 2008-2010, but it's becoming painfully clear that Webb is circling the drain of his career. We have other young guns who are showing promise now, so let's focus on supporting them and their endeavors.
Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see Webb return to form and get one last shot on the big stage. If he medaled in London I'd be ecstatic (and feel like an idiot for saying he was finished). But I'm pretty tired of holding my breath through every big Alan Webb race of the past 3 years, each time exhaling in disappointment as he grunts and grimaces his way across the finish line, well behind the real contenders.
