Never thought I'd be posting about this but my dog and I recently placed 1st and 2nd in a local 5k that offers prize money, $100 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd. I paid the registration fee for my dog and he ran with his number attached to his harness.
He's a purebred Doberman Pinscher that runs 60 miles a week with me and I thought it would be fun to run a race with him. The kicker is that he actually got 1st overall, 16:15 to my 16:16 as he ALWAYS likes to run in front of me. I left early from the race and just got my $100 for 1st place in the mail. Do I have any recourse for claiming the 100 and 50 for the both of us?
For full disclosure he was not on a leash so there's no way they could claim "aiding a runner", secondly, they don't mention "person or people" in the consent form ... It only says "participant".
