I saw the New Balance 690 for super cheap at my local sports authority. For years now, I have done all my training in the Pegasus and racing in the Streaks, but this offer seems too good to pass up. They are a pretty lightweight trainer and feel great. Does anyone know anything the shoe and what it can be used for? Thanks.
pretty thick sole, banana shape, neutral, similar to the kinvara in terms of feel when I run but a bit more of a heel toe rise.
I've put in maybe 500 miles into a pair (of the 10 shoes I have right now, sadly enough) and like them more than all my other shoes other than the kinvaras. I was experimenting with shoes about 6 months ago and they were the best fit for me (a underpronator who mid strikes and had some problems with my achiles).
right now I use these and the kinvara2...
I noticed they are pretty light. Can I run a road race in them?
if you like the 690s you're probably better off with the kinvaras or another minimalist transition shoe. you can get the kinvaras from runningwarehouse for about $60.
But I don't think the 690 is a bad shoe, at least for me. I hate most shoes, btw.
