UNC advertised for a coaching position. Does anyone know what events it's for? Someone out there must have some inside information.
There is not one posted on the NCAA job market anymore. Someone has asked about UNC about every other post and people have given the same answer, It is for cross country spot.

If a posting like that ever says Track/Cross country and not just Track. About 99% time it is looking for the distance coach. Most other positions post Track and Field and tell the events.
With so much inside info on the board, who knows who else is/was interviewed at Illinois besides Gauson, and isn't he a sprint coach at Butler?
Sounds like someone wants the info....
But I shall use it to MY advantage.
har har harlissssss
Yes i do want to know as I'm attend UNF as a freshman, and we have not been told the Head Coach was leaving
Yes UNF HC is leaving. You can wait until the official press release comes out, but by that time it is old news. Sorry man. Welcome to college!
Do you know who is interviewing at ECU for the assistant cross position?
Yeah gauson is in charge of sprints at Butler. But he's not a true sprint coach. He's done his best, but he coaches the sprinters like mid distance runners. he should be a mid distance/distance coach period... and Butler needs a sprint coach to replace him asap if he does leave. they're screwed if they don't get a good sprint/hurdle coach in there to fill his position
UNC fired Vanhoy (distance) and Clarke (sprints). Young throws guy Dubbs stayed as did Langley who was interim when Craddock was out this year. Interesting was that the other young distance assistant Adam Smith ended up at Syracuse

So UNC might have 2 or 3 positions left
Stanford has not done any interviews outside of the current people on the staff... Phone interviews are set to begin next week sometime. Look for the Penn State HC to be the front runner, but she isn't the only one on the administration's idea.
Source on these UNC doings?

No surprise on that hire. Fox helped Watson get his start in coaching. So my guess is Watson and Fox are good pals. The good ole boys system helps out this Adam Smith character.
Who the hell keeps coming on here trying to promote Gauson as if he's a good coach. He's not a coach if he can't adjust and coach any event effectively if that's his job. That's what's wrong with our profession. I take it it's either Gauson himself or someone on the staff posting this b/c no one knows who he is. He's not in the running at Illinois so he might as well get comfortable where he is b/c no one going to hire him elsewhere.
1st, this was clearly a kid on the team who made this post. 2nd, get your facts straight. 3rd, nobody has even been interviewed yet. so all of you saying the unf coach has been hired are wrong.

Bitter much? Gausen is a great guy and a knowledgable young coach. If Gavin Kennedy gets a shot why not Gausen?
I am completely nuetral but I very much dislike negative attacks against good people and wish Gausen nothing but the best...whether this rumor is true or not.
Who's the new sprint coach going to be?
