^^This is wrong for D2 eligibility. You have 10 full time semesters from when you start college to use all 8 semesters of eligibility. However, a new rule has been put into place along the lines of competing with a club. Club competition (or possibly any outside competition like road races) can technically count as a used season of eligibility, the way I understand it. It has been put in place mainly to limit foreign athletes from have eligibility after they finish school oversees, then compete with a club, then show up as ringers after a couple of years. There are obviously loop holes based on athletes still getting waivers to compete though...
