Adidas 1
I feel sorry for the people that wasted 200$ on those things.
Well... Anything by Reebok: The Pump, they had a graphite/plastic plate that didn't flex at all for a short time, Energy Return System
adidas had an outsole pod system (don't remember the name)
Nike had the Footscape that disappeared quickly.
that shoe with the 'catapult' built into the heel. Seriously I thought in 4th grade I would be able to dunk. Thank god my parents didn't waste money on them
Here we go

Just realized that said running shoe flub, my bad. Still, these were terrible.
adidas turning frank rudy away
Adidas Feet You Wear
funky stuff
Nike Shox...
these reebok dmx were the worst running shoes i've used.
gum-rubber sole wore out in 2 weeks. air pillow mid-sole was highly unstable.

I loved the Asics split tongue.
Biggest flub Reebok tubes for energy return. 0.0 Kswiss is doing the same thing 20 years later
Nike Air rift with the split toe. had to buy a special sock to wear them. I did like the way they felt and ran.
Anything with significant arch support. (For the large majority of people, there may be special cases).

My neighbor had these shoes when we were kids. When the shoes were completely trashed and unusable, we took a hacksaw to the heel and cut it in half. It was nothing but hard plastic. You could have put gravel in the heel and had better cushioning.
Nike LDV 1000
Nike waffle racers (I know, started the craze, but the little waffle nubs fell-off/didn't last).
Nike Cortez (Made hamburger out of the big toe).
Addias SL 72s and SL 76s (rock hard).
You youngsters don't know truly bad shoes . . .
Reebok Pump. Back in the day, the Pump with the ERS seemed like such an amazing thing to a middle school kid. Then Nike copied them with their own pump. I remember they had them for basketball and tennis, but was there a running one?
I actually liked the Adidas Feet You Wear series.
I wasn't into running at that stage, but did LA Gear or British Knights ever have any running "technology" in their shoes?
PUMA "Disc"... you would never have to lace up your shoes!
BROOKS varus wedge... inconsistent degrees of support
BROOKS GT? a gore-tex upper that leaked like a sieve
NIKE "Tailwind" 1st generation AIR shoe that would go flat if punctured and make squishing sounds
ADIDAS "WEB", and a shoe that you could customize the degree of cushion with "cassettes" inserted in midsole of different durometers
Plus many others I saw after 30 years in the running shoe biz.
Come to think of it, all companies had some bad ideas, except possibly ASICS/TIGER which didn't see the need for marketing gimmicks as much as the others, imo.
I loved the adidas feet you wear. Were these early minimalist shoes with lower heel heights that we see today?
The Waffle Racer my favorite shoe for XC and track races. I hate the feel of spikes and I never had problems with the nubs breaking off.

Agree on the DMX. Got a free pair while working at Fleet Feet. First run.....2 miles in I couldn't feel my arches, had to walk home in my bare feet. Threw them out at the first garbage can I came across.
SHOES are the biggest flub of all time!
