I did an 8 x 400m workout the other day at a pace a bit faster than goal mile pace. The rest was a 100m walk. My splits were: 69,69,68,69,69,69,70,72. I have my mile time trial tomorrow, what do you think my time will be?

4:40
5:06
Also, I ran a 5:04 mile time trial last friday
Why are you doing weekly mile time trials?
Well, given that additional information, 4:55

it's my coach's idea, he wants to see our improvement each week during the first month of training.
4:45-4:57.
Hello I also wouldn't mind a prediction for my time trial tomorrow. I did 8x400 3 days ago in 78 78 77 77 76 75 74 72 with 2 mins rest. I am hoping for 5:04-5:08, does that seem realistic?
Pretty wide range here, but I would say anywhere from 4:40 - 4:55.
You'll be hitting 4:40 by the end of your season.
Just keep going out in 2:20 / 3:30 and holding on. You'll probably die as it is early on in the season which will give you 4:55, but as you get stronger, you should be able to hold 70s all the way.
I'll say 4:45. 10x400 is a classic predictor. You were slowing down at the end, but there is a good chance you could have held it for 2 more if you had done the first few in 70-71. I agree with the guy who said go out in 2:20.
I would be very surprised if you broke five.
5:12
Maybe a 4:38 mile.
dont run the day before you can pop off a 5:30 at least
also if your that slow just quit
I ran a 5:15 tonight but knew before I was even finished that I can do a lot better. My legs felt reasonably fresh afterwards so I rested for about 30 mins and gave it another shot, running 5:19. I still think somewhere around 5:05 is possible with my fitness.
