Guys,
How do you reconcile the conflicting desires to look muscular and attractive on one hand and be light and fast on the other? I’ve started doing some relatively minor strength training over the last couple months, as well as drinking daily protein shakes. My upper body looks more muscular but I have literally gained 20 pounds! I feel like I definitely look better and I know that I am more attractive to the women I am dating, but I also know that carrying around that extra weight will be a major hindrance to my race performances. Does it really have to be one or the other? Sometimes I hate that I love this sport.
In case you’re wondering, I’m 6’1” and I’ve gone from 145 lbs. to 165 lbs.
