Just beat Tyner, not bad!
Glad he wasn't at my TT!
Why is his chip time slower than his clock time? Did he start before the gun?

Want to rethink what you just wrote and try again?
If that dude can trot that fast, I wonder how fast he could do 10k if he was actually running.
That is not an impressive time, its equal to about a 4:05 mile he's got a lot of work to do to make it just to trials

Ummm...no. Clock time and chip time should be equal for someone starting at the front. Typically clock time will be slower than chip time for the masses because it takes these folks a while just to get to the starting line. So, for someone to have a chip time slower than their clock time would suggest that he passed the starting line before the clock started (aka jumping the gun).
Thus, the original post made perfect sense and your response was, ummm...yeah.

False. He can make the trials right now with his kick.

Shouldn't you be telling us about how great Cam Levins is?
That's not a bad time given that he specialize in 1500s.
And just because it's called a turkey trot, it doesn't mean he actually trotted. I think he gave his best shot. So the idea of expecting super fast times when he actually run might be a bit far fetched.
However, he can get to faster times once he focus his attention in the distance.
And for the guy who asked why his chip time was slower than clock time. The answer is he crossed the starting line 3 seconds after the gun 35:05 Vs 35:02.
From the difference in times we can tell their positioning at the starting line. You can see that Jeremy Xarins didn't loose anytime, that means he was toeing the line and bolted as soon as the gun went. Centro must have been a bit behind Jeremy.

Is he injured? Pros usually put in 26s and 27s for the 10k. Maybe he should compete another year at Oregon.
Holy Cow!! So you're saying he ran back in time!!

My logarithms equate it to a 4.04.97 mile, but close enough….. If the elections in Egypt continue with few issues he should have no problem in making the US Team.

How fast do you run a 10k in November when your training is geared toward peaking for the 1500 next August, 9 months from now? He probably has only just started training again after last years world championships.
At least he won his age group.
If he walked across the timing mat 5 minutes before the gun went off, his chip time would have read 30:05, but his clock time would have read 25:05.
Get it?
He started running 3 seconds before the start.
It actually appears that way with all 3. Maybe someone said go, but there was lag in starting the clock timing.
Yes. It looks like they started the clock at least 3 seconds after they started the race.
Or it was a massive false start that was let go (-3s reaction time).
The clock time is supposed to be the official time.
So all of these times are invalid, if it mattered for anything.
I think that's what they did at the Beijing Games in 1993.
Just let everyone go and started the clock later.
