Thanks for posting this. Are team scores at checkpoints available anywhere
This is what I get for the top women's teams at half way, with final team points in parentheses:
Washington 145 (170)
Villanova 154 (181)
Georgetown 166 (162)
Oregon 194 (281)
Florida State 246 (189)
Inside look at the teams:
Washington: 4th runner lost 25 team place points in the second half.
Villanova: Runners 3, 4, and 5 lost 12, 7, and 11 team places respectively.
Georgetown: 5th runner picked up 21 team places, while runners 2 and 4 lost 11 and 5 places.
Oregon: Runner 2 lost 24 places and runner 5 (at half way) lost a whopping 130 places and dropped to runner 6 on the team.
Florida State: Runners 1 through 5 moved up by 4, 17, 22, 1, and 13 places respectively. They just seemed to have started too far back.
Also note that 6th placer Vanderbilt (282 points) hit half way in 13th place with 370 points. Their number 1 and 2 runners moved up by 44 and 43 places, respectively.
It is a 3K split for the women, I believe (not 4K)
LOL at the dude Daniel Mutai from UL-Monroe dropping back 130+ places...
I saw him in the video and wondered who he was. He is one of those guys who gives it a shot because he does not have team responsibilities. In this case, he crashed and burned, and having fallen off, had not as much motivation to limit his losses (compared to being on a team). I wonder if part of Kesselring's fall (100+ places) occurred after it was apparent she was not going to be top-5 for Oregon.
In another thread (Derrick?) I pasted in a subset of those that fell off hard. There was a significant Kenyan component there, with notable members like Risper (spelling?), although Saina moved up a bit.
Given the huge pack at 3000 (look how similar the times were across about 100 runners), the number of places can be exaggerated. Looking at the split to the finish relative to those that the were with or that they ended up with gives a bit more information but is much harder to organize. When I saw the "4K splits" I thought that would give more information about how places moved but it was really 3k.
Thanks for doing the work. I'll probably run all the numbers this weekend. Vandy very well coached. I'm impressed.

I didn't finish the individuals until 3 am so no team scores.
Most of the team scores we put in the "Live thread" as the race was happening.
If you scroll here, you'll see the scores we took off the telecast:

Not looking a gift horse in the mouth. Thanks for doing this. It's too bad the timing company, which has the data already, doesn't just post links. Very educational for coaches and athletes alike.
Moussa moved up 124 spots....wtf....
Too bad he didn't go out in like 150th instead of 212th....
I thought it might be of interest to see who had the fastest second half and the fastest last 2k.
