I can be wrong on occasion but I lived in Washington at the time Herm was in his prime and was in races he ran. Regardless, I still believe he is the fastest.

Anyone with the skinny on Herm's mileage for the 2:11? He gave me ridiculously low (like 10-20 mpw) figures for when he was cleaning everyone's clock for Master's Nats XC back in the '90's.

Otis was a very good runner. I think he won the Junior College XC one year + winning many races here on Long Island.

I remember him battling it out with Malcolm East in my Thanksgiving Day Race in Port Washington only to be outkicked in the last 100 meters.

You can't be African American if you were born in America. You would be American. I personally know only a handful of US citizens that were born in Africa. Drop the pc garbage.
