We all know you read these boards. You can be totally anonymous as well. I seriously want to here what Lukas' former teammates have to say.

No.
He was mean, very mean.
Not a member of the team this year, but several of them are close friends with me (namely Mac Fleet and Brian Shrader).
Verzbicas talked the entire thing through with several members of the team and they'd been aware of it more than a week before it happened.
The vast majority of them wished him good luck. 2-3 of them were fairly angry, but they were not in the top 7 to begin with, so their racing chances were not adversely affected in the slightest.
Overall, the atmosphere of the actual team seemed to be much more positive than negative (unless they were just lying to appear more mature of course, but I doubt that that would be the case)
Thanks for the info
Because our football team is doing so well, very few people seem to have noticed that our campus was host to such a phenomenal h.s. runner. With that being said, if LV had accomplished something and then left, it may have caused more of a comotion.
I tend to be more of track fan, not XC, so not getting to see him run this spring will be sad, but its not like he is our only talented runner.

So let me get this straight.
The actual RUNNER'S on Oregon's team handled it like a bunch of mature adults, but the bumbling idiots on Letsrun are quite literally up in arms and raging at their computer screens?
Somehow I'm not surpised

I might get around to step two sooner or later .
Thanks for the info
Yeah because the football team and women's volleyball have been doing so well, not many people around here seem to care much one way or the other about LV. Verzbicas hadn't run well enough for people to even take much notice of him. When people talk about runners at Oregon or in Eugene, it is usually about Nick Symmonds, Jordan Hasay, Matt Centrowitz or Greer, or Mike Berry, Puskedra, or English Gardner.
Will the sun rise this morning ? Or will the pity party continue. Let's whine:
I'm the victim. Lukas is a meaning weenie. Lukas is an asiactical hay tor from Lithuania. Lukas left my team so I won't get the new team biggy baggy for my mummy for X-mas. Lukas should go back to his communinist counntry and kill Jews like Stalin. Lukas beats up little kids. Lukas tortures hamsters. Lukas pees in the toilet w/o lifting the seat. Lukas never replaced the toilet paper when it ran out in the dorm. Lukas never brushed his teeth. Lukas made me punch the wholes in his school handouts since he said "I'm a World Champion". Lukas never gave one meth addict his potato chips like the team always did at Hayward. Lukas never paced but expected everyone else to pace. Lukas never let the ladies go 1st unless she was black and wanted to scope out her ass. Lukas made fun of Mexcians. Lukas likes the Ku Klux Klan. Lukas is a Hamasnik. Lukas wants everyone to have an abortion even in cases of rape. Lukas hates Palestinians. Lukas wants the Hutus massacred. Lukas thinks Chinese are Chinky. Lukas thinks pale white skin people are better than everyone else. I hate Lukas. Woe is me.

This is only partially true because LV left Eugene and was actually in Colorado a week before he officialy announced that he was quiting. Some people say that he was struggling in school and had to drop out by the 13th (official last day to drop for Fall term), others think he couldn't handle getting it handed to him every day in workouts and races, others think he was just homesick, and yet others think he changed his mind and wanted to be a Triathlete again (to hell with his commitments).

Let's get something straight.
The OP started this thread asking for information from runners on Oregon's team.
Unfortunately (and unsurprisingly), none of Oregon's runners actually use this site enough to pay attention or respond to it, but another user has been helpful enough to deliver a relatively concise response regarding the situation.
That post is quite literally the ONLY one that obliges to the OP's request, and you're bashing the guy for it?
We get it. You're bitter and immature. Go have your tantrum in a corner or something, but don't go around imposing your negativity on people who don't deserve it.

Cool story bro

From what you are saying this makes sense. Some of his "teammates" were angry because this young man had a full-ride (something almost no one gets at Oregon), yet crapped on the guys who are running for little more than books. My own suspicion is that there are at least a few freshmen who were asked to redshirt because LV would take up one of the top 7 spots. I think I'd be a little put out if I was in the position of working my butt off and then have a "teammate" crap on the rest of the team.
Lukas Verzbickas in an INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTAR. His name unexpectedly has spread like wildfire across the sports world after he snubbed Chinese eunuch Phil Knight the Stanford MBA graduate. The whole world loves Lukas. He's taken the spotlight away from Usain Bolt and his PED habit. Who'd a thunk-ed-ed it ? My prediction is he'll be exiting Colorado Springs soon for New York City or Hollywood. Fame can be a fleeting moment and Lukas knows it.
I truly hope Vin has taught the guys better than to post on these boards about anything internally related.
Letsrun is a very well-known and followed site for both coaches and athletes at the DI level. Anything written on here will inevitably be traced back to the athlete who partakes in it. Believe me, I've seen it happen several times with friends of mine in different programs.
Be smart guys, avoid the rumor mill. Stick to the training threads.
I have insider information of sources close to Lukas that said he left because he couldn't handle the pressure of being a freshman and college. He loved being in the spotlite as being the H.S. top runner for 2.5 years. But as soon as he got to college he wasn't even top 3 on his team. That hurt his ego a lot.
This is an anyonmous board. Who knows where the one post came from.
