This thread is a decent starting place as I like his opinions-

I also suggest watching videos of some guys known to have stellar form - K. Bekele, H. El G, D. Rudisha, S. Coe, etc.
I don't have any specific videos in mind, as it takes some work to find ones at a good angle to judge form, like on ground level, but they should all give basic insight.
Some main points:
-Have a slight forward lean from the ankles.
-Forefoot landing under center of gravity.
-Keep shoulders low while having a high arm swing(right around nipple)
-Bring up heel close to butt.
-Keep a straight posture, even with the lean, and look more or less straight ahead.
-Practice on soft surface and don't hurt yourself.
By watching videos and doing adjustments by feel you should get pretty good form. There are not any books I would suggest for various reasons.
