After watching yet another Kenyan go under 2:04 it looks like Hall, as great as he is for an American, simply has no chance to ever win at the Olympics or a world major.
Rupp is our only hope.

Kid, it's only long distance running. Who really cares in the grand scheme? A Federal Reserve that knows what's it's doing, competent economic policy advisors who don't merely retreat back to Berkeley or Princeton or become op-ed writers for the New York Times, and a scalable domestic energy policy... that's you're only hope.
American distance runner and drug cheat Eddy Hulebeck already said that blood enhancers do not work that well for the marathon, so no chance for the Nike oregon group.

Child, this is a running site (I know, sometimes it is hard to tell). Nobody is talking about the grand scheme of things here (well, nobody except you).
And if you are going to talk about our only hope, please be advised that it makes absolutely no sense to list more than one thing.
Now, please go back to your little toys my dear child and let adults handle the big stuff.
Drunk too much rupp-koolaid, you have. Within you hope lies. Expand your world, you must. Corrected, your post has been.

Well, I'll give credit where it's due. There is really only one thing that ultimately matters. And winning medals certainly ain't it.

Rupp is way overrated and wont amount to anything.
Why didn't you speak up when the country was being ruined by the Republicans? Why do you ignore completely the lessons of history?
Rupp does have a shot at a 2:04.
2:04??? I believe Rupp has faster than that for 800m.
not for Yassos.

10/10. Rupp does have a chance once he shifts over to the marathon in 2013.
Actually we will not find out until 2017. He may enter a marathon after 2012 but I don't seem seriously focusing on that until after 2016. He's spent too much time developing his speed to suddenly just throw that away.

Are you sure? I was under the impression that his (and Salazar's) plan was to move up after 2012.

Please post your 10,000 meter time.
Thank you.

For both Rupp and Solinsky, if they do not medal in London, it will be an interesting decision (though Solinsky actually might be better off heading to the 1500--what he did at Mt. Sac off 10000 trainining was pretty impressive, and I wonder what he could do if he actually trained for it). If they do not medal or get in the top 5 in the world, the available money would have to be a lot higher in the marathon.
Sol isn't tough enough to run marathons... period... he is soft like Lutz
Running a 'thon on hot asphalt road is entirely different than running on a soft-cushioned track; banks, harder, hotter, uneven, tight corners to turn, "water" to grab and chug.

the correct syntax would actually be "my only hope, Rupp is"
