Step 1. Talk a big game.
Step 2. Deliver.
Selecting the Kenyan team is going to be very hard.
Those individuals who work the frontpage thought it was just talking a big game

The individuals who work the frontpage are Renato Canova fanboys. They believe that the two greatest Marathoners are Moses Mosop and Geoffrey Mutai because they ran faster than anyone ever did, despite Boston being such a hard course.
Also, being based in America doesn't help either. Lets face it: Kenyans are selecting the European Marathons over the Americans because they're faster and it's more convenient (no timezone difference). Also American Marathons prefer to spend the big $ on average white runners or naturalized Kenyans/Somalians.

The same Renato who mentioned Mosop and Mutai also did mention Wilson Kipsang, Abel Kirui, Wilson Chebet among others as capable of breaking the current world record(Patrick Makau's). Renato is the undisputed marathon genius!

INSANE.
If Wanjiru were alive, the Kenyans would have at least 5 runners who have run are could run 2:03 something. And Ritz couldn't break 2:10. That's really f'd up. And I think Ryan Hall is a running God, but on his best day, he is at least 2 minutes behind up to 10 east africans. Crazy, crazy, crazy.
Wow so close. Coming up 4 inches short must be frustrating.

True, true, true!
If there was ever an award for the world coach of the year, I'd give it to the good old Doctor. REnato always knows what he is talking about.
"2:03:42 !!! Wilson KIpsang 4" from WR"
Cograts to him.

It seems that there are only two spots up for grabs with Abel Kirui clinching a wild card. I hope AK doesn't give Makau the second spot. We need a thriller in London in April assuming that that is where the trials will take place for the Kenyan team.
All in all, another big headache for AK.
I hope Kenya/Ethiopia are allowed a "B" and possibly a "C" Team for the Olympics. It would be a great shame that some of the best (current) marathon runners in the world will miss the Olympics at their peak.
Four sub 2:04 marathons this year - and the season is not even complete! Wow. Next year, I am guessing those who do not make the Kenyan team will have a point to prove - so we could see more 2:03:xx marathons next year.

Agree: with all these guys on 2:03 it also shows something else- one of them is likely to run 2:02xx pretty soon
CERA and AICAR FTMFW!!!!!!!!!
If all of these amazing Kenyans are in one race with perfect weather and the right pacing, 2:02:XX is definitely possible. It is an amazing time for marathoning right now. I wish Sammy was still in the mix. I think he inspired a lot of these runners to really push the pace in the marathon. 2:03 is the new 2:05.
Anyone else think he would have gotten the record if there hadn't been so many turns in the last 2 - 3 kilos?

This is a big reason I think I will live to see a sub 2 hour marathon. It wasn't so long ago that 2:03 was an incredible performance. It still is by all means, but when you have more than 1 guy running it the times are gonna drop.

We sure would like to have these kinds of headaches here in the USA.
The wall of photographers at the end is what is really getting me. Those guys had to stop in their tracks only 10m, maybe less after the line.
Those were photographers??
I actually did think it was a wall or some sort of barrier
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
