I have the dreaded "dead" feeling in my quads and hammys right now. It's hard to describe, it's a heaviness that just doesn't go away. I haven't been doing many intervals or fast running so I don't think it's due to overtraining. Like right now I'm lying on my bed and I can "feel" my quads.Very annoying!
Anyway, I used to just take a few days off when I got this tired feeling, but recently I've been reading Lydiard and he recommends a long slow run to get the oxygen into the muscles to rejuvenate the legs. Roughly he says that easy aerobic runs are like a comfortable armchair, it's what you should go for when your legs feel shot.
What do you do in this situation?
