Is Steve Nash the best 10K runner in the NBA?

I would run Nash in the 10k and either John Wall or Dwight Howard in the 100. Wall is ridiculous with his speed. Did anyone see the Shaq vs episode with Tyson Gay? They ended with a relay of athletes from different sports and Dwight held his own in his leg against Maurice Greene

Um, the whole race was a fix, I wouldn't put too much stock in the results.

RAJON RONDO for the win in the 1500m no doubt. Guy is fast as bawls and has endurance too. I could agree with the Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton though too. Those guys have motors that never stop. I'm sorry but I just don't see Dwight being the fastest in the 100. Others: TJ Ford, Monta Ellis, Aaron Brooks, Leandro Barbosa. Lebron I've heard is pretty quick in a sprint also, maybe Wade too.

I'd take Dwight Howard in any throw event.

I also think if Lebron had trained for the decathlon his whole life he'd be Olympic gold caliber.

Isn't Steve an avid soccer player too? I'd imagine he's got some pretty good endurace from that, so I'd say he's got a good 10k in him if he trained for it.

Manu Ginobili had 38' in 10k years ago.

I know hes retired but i read that John Stockton was a very good runner. I feel like the article said he did 8 miles at under 6 min pace.

For the 10K it is probably whoever the smallest guy in the NBA is. I don't know who that would be nowadays.

Few weekends ago, my daughter and I went to a local park (she wanted to ride her bike while I run..) and I noticed a guy getting out of a car with his little daughter-(the park had several soccer games going on that morning). I asked my daughter "hey, isn't that Steve Nash?" since she is a big fan of his...and said "yeah!" but played it cool.

I immediately noticed his shoes. He was wearing some sort of Nike brand--possibly a running type. Funny how I notice that first...anyway, I would say Steve could definitely run a decent 10k.

I'm about 90% sure Earl Boykins ran XC in high school. Also 5'5/135. I remember some poster saying he personally witnessed him drop a 4:40 in practice at EMU.

When you think about it, this is almost pathetic. At the age of a pro I started running in August and the first of December I ran a marathon where my last 10k+ was 38, and I was a mediocre high school JV XC runner back when we knew nothing much about training and shoes were almost junk.

I am stunned at how low the 'standard' is for great athletes for 10K and the marathon, when average guys can train for just a little bit and trounce what they are willing to work at.

Shaq would have a good 10km in him.
