Yet the forum software is from stone age or something? xD
How about a software upgrade?

Yes how about it, brothers?
But this software is feature packed and state of the art...
Besides if the message boards change the whole feel of this place will change too...
.
I think they mean the content, not the software. If you want to flip out of high tech software, go to a software website.
Let me guess...it is starting to get cold in Minnesota.
Could you imagine if everyone had a 70x70 avatar and a 180x600 signature image? And a "list" of their PRs? It'd be just like dyestat. What a sh*thole.
Really wish we could post pics and create polls. Being able to go through your own posts wouldn't be bad.
Definitely need to get rid of this old school bullshit design.

Nobody wants to see a picture of you winning a JV race. Go back to Dyestat.

HAHA. Or Runnersworld.
It is like having a hamburger at a vintage 1950s diner. Serve the same burger in a douchy wine bar with house music playing in the background and a backlit bar, would taste like sh--. But in a 1950s diner with little juke boxes on the tables and slices of pie under glass on the counter, the burger is delicious.

Dude, Remember when Kmart used to have the best burgers in town? They would melt a big slab of cheese over the greasy burger right on the grill. You can't get em like that in too many places now.
As for the message board, "infamous" doesn't roll of the tongue quite as well even though it is far more appropriate.

If it's known in more than 1 state of the USA, it is world famous.
It's right up there with Track and Field News ... the bible of sports.
After 30 years of T&FN and Runner's World, it's time to introduce an upgrade.
We need to include the big boys for the 2012 games. This will be the greatest assembly of USA long distance runners in 30 years. If we can't get this done now, we never will.
Cyboards PHP Lite has a five-year-old SQL Injection vulnerability that's never been patched by the developer. Under the right conditions this whole thing could be wiped clean with only a few keystrokes.
The world famous message boards could become a relic with talk from a few paid kids about a few keystrokes.
This site has become everything that a running site should not be about.
It's classic, like running.
Or Coca Cola.
They made a new Coke and it bombed.
Today, we drink Coca Cola Classic.
The next decade of running is coke classic. I have no idea how much they pay you to post on this site, but I hope that you can buy a coke classic at the end of the day. In the mean time, please pay off your student loans ... they are not dischargeable.
I love the setup except when the mods start butchering large chunks of interesting threads
I'm not in favor of change for change's sake, but I would like to see something like slashdot.org, which still allows anonymous posting, but also has a moderation system that allows you to avoid reading all the crap if you want. It's also pretty cruft-free. The code is freely available.
