She ran for 10 minutes and her achilles started hurting, demonstrating it was her SHOES that were causing the injuries, therefore she got surgeries on her feet.
This makes absolutely no sense.
It's like I'm the kid running around saying the emperor has no clothes, and everyone else is saying how lovely they are.
Turning in to a boys only club?
She should have someone proof read her writing.
"We both had different ideas on the reasons for the injuries and the rehab process."
I'd like to know their differences.

Maybe she could forward it to you before posting. Also, I hope she adds more coloful stories. It is a bit dry.
Not to be the stereotypical LRC poster and jump to a P.E.D. based conclusion, but it does seem a little bit strange to see multiple runners leaving Salazar and the Oregon Project after the incredible performances it has been consistently producing over the past few years. NOT accusing anyone of anything, but it definitely races a red flag in my mind.
Her position:
1. She thinks her injury was caused by excessive training.
2. She thinks she needed surgery and rest to recover.
3. She thinks her future training should be less strenuous.
AlSal's position:
1. She is a wimp and needs to train harder.
2. She is a wimp and needs to shake it off.
3. See 1.

Can you explain the red flag? I'm not trying to be argumentative or really even that skeptical. I just don't understand your line of thinking. Are you saying they've been using PEDs to achieve so much success recently, but somehow they just now realized it was wrong? Or did not know they were taking PEDs?
Actually he kicked her out for her poor performance at Nationals. Rumor is he thinks she is too big for a distance runner.

I'm not saying that they were or were not taking PEDs at any point, but I don't doubt that Salazar could be approaching a 'gray area' when it comes to ergogenic substances and medicines. Goucher and Yoder-Begley are both coming off of injuries at the moment, and I'd be lying if I said that their departure from Salazar didn't make me consider that he could be using some sort of illegal or immoral substances/techniques to speed along the recovery process and ensure a full year of training leading into the trials and London next year
I was coached by Andrew in 200x, and met Amy that year as well as emailed from time to time. I found both to be genuine and energetic people, a little folksy, but certainly not cynical. Andrew ran for Arkansas and really helped me achieve some post injury goals I didn't think possible. I raced well and posted some monstrous workouts with him.
If think if you don't know either Andrew or Amy, then I find it a little hypocritical to suggest PED use or being fat, or being weak. Amy and Andrew both have had a lot of hurdles to get through their running careers and continue to fight for something they love.
In the end, I don't think Amy's decision has anything to do with AlSal and everything to do with working with her HUSBAND, who likely knows her better than anyone.
They're both amazing runners with a long list of accomplishments; perhaps that's the problem for some of you.
We want the juicy details! Some distance runner needs to go bankrupt and then blow the top off the shady underworld of distance running for some $$$ and a book deal.
if what you really mean is ridiculously gorgeous, sure. amazing personality to boot, generous to a fault, only bummer is that she's already married...but andrew's a pretty good guy. wish her nothing but the best with the recovery and return to bumping heads at the top.oh, and i fixed your quote down there...

I think Amy and Kara got down on AlSal for pushing them into injuries. I have heard stories about AlSal being incredibly harsh on Kara. I think they put up with it because they believed that it is what they needed it and initially were successful under AlSal. But once they started to get injured and plateaued in their training and racing, they realized that it wasn't worth it anymore. Also, knowing AlSal, I wouldn't be surprised if he puts more time into Galen and Mo as those guys are running exceptionally well.

One should always take care with one's use of the second person, shouldn't one?
Because a couple are successful, then everyone is either doing the same or it is THEIR fault? Sounds like the College programs where EVERYONE does the same thing because really everyone is exactly the same (who needs twins when everyone is identical anyway) so why should individuals being doing things (i.e. training) differently. For that matter everyone in the world should have exactly the same training program since individual differences are really minimal anyway (sarcasm).
The point, other than that I don't think Alberto is great with female athletes (remember Caitlin Chock!), perhaps Jerry might not be either, is that their individual problems (or successes as well) have nothing to do with whether Rupp or Farah are running well. They, as individuals, need to be assessed totally on their own abilities to stay healthy and develop.
AlSal's definitely been having problems with his runners. Caitlin Chock is definitely one. Then there's been a pattern with K. Goucher, Yoder-Begley, and Ritz; they all have great seasons and then immediately get injured, and never seem to return to great form after that. And what about Jackie Areson? She might have done one or two races, if any, since she joined AlSal. Only Rupp seems to be avoiding problems. (Has he EVER been injured?)
I don't know...I don't know if anyone has really ever benefited from AlSal in the long run.
Ari Lambie is another female runner who had injury problems with Salazar and never met expectations.
