Does anyone know of any great runners that never ran in college. American runners that is.

Christine Webb ran a sub 4:40 mile as a freshman in her first dual meet but quit because it conflicted too much with her soccer club schedule.
There were a couple on our team one ran a 4:20 mile as a sophmore but never focused on running and ended up playing basketball for West Point. There was another who ran a 9:30 3200 meters, and was 16 flat 5K guy, that never bothered to run in college.
Not a amazingly fast times, but a certainly colligete material. And who knows how they would have developed.
sorry, i didn't specify. Have there been any really good or Elite level runners who didn't run in college?
Does Kim Mortenson (sp?) count?
Catherine Share ran a 2:04.7 800m as a sophomore but dropped out of high school when she turned 16. Her whereabouts are unknown.
james hardebeck broke our school record in the 1600m during the annual fitness test as a junior several years ago. he was an all-state soccer player with unbelieveable speed and endurance. he broke the record off a bet. he was timed in 4:07.1 but he never ran an official track race.
Jen Toomey
We had this basketball player try the high jump for fun. he cleared 7-5 with no practice. the coaches couldn't convince the 25 ppg 6-10 player to join track as he was scared he might injure himself and ruin his basketball season. his future college coach had advised him against it.
Melody Fairchild has to rank near the top.
Melody ran for Colorado.
Kim ran for Georgetown
Maurice Greene
Mo ran for Clemson
i don't think mo ran for clemson. Shawn Crawford ran for clemson, but not him. I don't recall him going there though
amber trotter
Amber runs for Middlebury college in Vermont.
Allison Felix!
Fairchild was an NCAA champ for Oregon. Not Colorado.
I thought she transferred to Colorado. Maybe I'm thinking of Mary Decker.
