I need some advice. I struggled with retrocalcaneal bursitis for 3 years in college (I graduated May 2010)...after xc season my senior year i took 8 months completely off, and when i returned the pain was finally gone. in the ~year since I've started running again, I've been able to run decent volume (high 80's mpw) without feeling anything in my heal, which has been great. My first real race in a looong time was a road 10k this weekend, which i raced in Asics DS Racers (they seemed like a good choice bc they have some posting in the instep so i figured they were somewhat supportive)...I ran very well but since the race my heal pain is back and may potentially worse than ever. I've been able to train through it and I'm hoping since I'll be wearing my normal trainers (Brooks Adrenalines) for the forseeable future the pain will go away. My question is that since I am planning to race another road 10k in about a month, are there racing flats i can wear in the future for 10k-marathon distances that will not aggravate the all-too-familiar injury of my formative years? any advice is appreciated
