"17 years old" Mohamed Aman has beaten Rudisha in Milan.
There were awful weather conditions with strong rain and wind. Aman stayed close to Rudisha and by 600m it was clear that he could pull off a big surprise. It ends a winning streak of 34 races for Rudisha

All good things come to an end. -
I think Rudisha probably over raced after Worlds.
Kaki should be doing what Aman is doing. Aman kept entering races with Rudisha in it, to gain experience of racing him.
Do that long enough, odds are you know how to beat him. -
Rudisha is tired at end of a long season, he looked it in his last race
If he can beat him running 1:41 it might be bigger news -
I'm surprised he did any more races to be honest. He looked pretty awful (for him) at Brussel's... he was really struggling the last 150 and I thought he would have called it a season. Good for Aman. If he can get into the 1:42's then there could be some great races between him, Rudisha and Kaki next year.
-
why is he still racing? what are the purpose of these shitty races. it must be just for appearance money? it would really annoy me to get beat by the false-aged Aman if I were truly the best in the world. sometimes you need to know when to end a season on a good note... (his 1:41.3x and wc gold)
-
Unbelievable! I thought you were trolling!
But we all know that Rudisha hates the rain.
An Ethiopian beats the 1.41-man....they are developing over middle distances. -

Aman's not competing against juniors. He's running against the best in the world so why does his age matter? -
17 years old......
SHYEAH!....RIGHT! -

i admit intellectual defeat. just sad to see rudisha lose in such a crappy little end of the year meet to a guy he literally buried in wc's. maybe it'll spark another fire for next year. -
in a way, defeat isn't such a bad thing ( it mighta been if he got beat in 1'42-flat )
he had to lose that long unbeaten record sometime rather than people keep mentioning it before every race adding more pressure
it's probably best it happened in a low-level meet in a modest time at end of year
this might get him hungry for next year & crush this "kid" repeatedly & he also doesn't have pressure of dragging a ?30 win streak into london
the kid didn't beat the 100% rudisha & he knows it
reminds me of the quote of rocky marciano when he beat joe louis
"i didn't beat joe louis, i beat the ghost of joe louis" -
'the kid didn't beat the 100% rudisha & he knows it'
Agree -
It matters because he won a silver medal at this years IAAF World Youth Championships and a world youth record of 1:43.37 in Rieti earlier.
Rules are rules. By claiming you are younger than what you really are, stealing records and medals and sponsorships you are behaving like someone who do not belong on the track. -

I have no idea how old he really his. If he intentionally falsified records to compete in junior events he should be banned. If he is the age he claims he deserves his medals. But that has nothing to do with him beating Rudisha because he is competing in a senior event. -
I agree that has nothing to do with him beating Rudisha, but Im sick of seeing this africans lying about their age over and over.
They first said he was 15, then changed to 17 cause nobody believed he was 15.
Great performance, but Rudisha was tired. Surprised that he ran tonight, but perhaps he likes to compete? -
Aman's got a very bright future, whatever his age, because he is just emerging on the scene this year with a low 1:43 and a defeat of Rudisha, so you would expect that the best is yet to come, otherwise why not get on the circuit last year or the previous ones? Who was that 'young' Kenyan who beat Aman at World Youth? He's going to be a challenge as well.
