good job! my prediction was off by 43 not too bad
Ryan Hall is scared now.
What about bobby curtis.... 9 15 Bobby Curtis FINISH 01:01:52 +03:06.86 04:44
Good for Adam.
I believe that would be his fifth Olympic Trials, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012.
Kim Smith 1:07:11
None of this is making sense. You can qualify for the U.S. marathon running a female's pace for the half.
1. Congrats Goucher
2. The half seems to be the perfect distance fro Kim Smith
3. Kenyans seem to ALWAYS run fastest when there is someone to run with/push them regardless of the distance. Great racers and not so good soloist I presume.

Running an AWESOME time for a woman. Don't try to discredit it maaaan. I bet lots of distances are like that. The mens half and the women's world lead 10k times for example

Hopefully you're joking? There are no women's times that qualify for the men's olympic trials.

Who are you kidding. The 2:19 standard is probably less demanding than the 1:05, so don't act so surprised.

So we will see you on the line in January, right? What's your name buddy?
whats the womens half marathon WR?? thought so.
Good for Adam. I don't know how hard of an effort that was for him, but he'll need to get that time down by around two minutes+ to have a shot at making the team in January. On the other hand, if he can put in a monster base without getting injured between now and then, not only will he have a shot, but he will have something to draw off of to take another crack at the 10,000, even though it's more stacked than ever. I hope he makes the team, but, either way, it's great that the guy keeps coming back when it seems he's done. Heck of a competitor.
Nive jobs by BC and AG but WOW - the two Kenyans go 58 high! Come, give out some due props.
really if it was a tempo type of run for him does anyone think it will take under 2:11 for the 3rd spot on the team?
It will be a slow race and those one the outside will make an error and let Hall, who will be running just 12 weeks after his Chicago effort, bide time and turn it into an 8 mile race ...
so they go out 1:06 or so and then slightly faster on the 2nd half will get a spot..
Hall
Ritz
who else if someone like Rupp doesn't get on the line to take a shot
Curtis/Meb/Goucher/Gotcher or some other long shot
Adam's chances aren't that bad and if Ritz is still hurt then really outside of Hall who else is a lock?
The last time it took under 2:11 to make the team was 1980...
1968 - 2:33:09
1972 - 2:20:30
1976 - 2:13:54
1980 - 2:10:55*
1984 - 2:11:50
1988 - 2:13:09
1992 - 2:12:54
1996 - 2:13:22
2000 - 2:15:30**
2004 - 2:12:01

Considering the women's marathon WR would meet the OLYMPIC standard, why does someone competing in the rinky-dink trials with a comparable half-marathon time piss you off so much?
Oh yeah Adam! Way to go!!!
Houston will be a faster course than NYC, right? Especially since the trials course had a bunch of hilly loops in central park. If Ritz is healthy or if Rupp enters I think it might take sub-2:11 to make it.
On the other hand, there isn't really anyone who will want a fast pace. Meb will probably want a slow early pace since he's running NY like 8 weeks before. Hall won't need to push it because he's several minutes faster than whoever might finish 4th. Ritz won't want to push if he's hurt or just coming back.
