I've been waiting for interviews and quotes from Galen Rupp and other runners and coaches. This seems to be the first one:

Rupp: ‘I wanted to focus on competing’ and much more.

“Alberto asked me if I wanted someone on the infield to tell me my splits on each lap, but I told him ‘no’. I didn’t want to keep worrying about that."
Galen said ‘Do you know what? I’m just going to go in and race against these guys, and whatever happens, happens.’
"I’m really happy to have done it.”
“This is the first year where I have ended on a real high. It’s great to be able to finish a season feeling strong having run a good time. Sometimes you need to go out and actually do something rather than talking about it."
“Obviously I would love to medal in London, to do well there."
Too much pollen in London
I am now even more psyched about Rupp's performance after reading this. Screw the splits, I'm running against Bekele! Love how it's a step back from all the obsessive compulsive aspects of his training & past racing. Looking forward to build up to London, but the chances of both Mo AND Galen repeating, let alone improving on this years performances, are slim (just ask Webb, Ritz, etc.... how hard it is to stay focused, healthy, mentally strong,...)
Racing against Bekele? This will not end well
I love it. Salazar calls Farah an African, which he is, so no biggie, but love it when the Brits think Farah is British.

He is British you idiot, he just was born and spent a few early years of his life in Africa.
Loved the article. Totally agree that Rupp seems to really be coming around mentally. I couldn't help but think that what Farah gave Rupp is exactly what Webb has needed for so many years... An example of how to chill the hell out and just go out and race sometimes. Really happy for Rupp... Everything really has fallen into place for him and he has a chance to do a lot more very special things the next few years, God/the Universe willing.
Don't care where you come from
As long as you're a black man
You're an African
No mind your nationality
You have got the identity of an African

Why are you so racist? You are acting like there is something wrong with being born in Africa. There isn't you bigot.
He was born in Africa, which makes him african. Sorry if the facts get in the way of your narrow minded views.
What the hell are you talking about. When did I say there was something wrong with being African??? Oh thats right I didn't. He was born in Africa, his ancestors are from africa. He is, however, British. Christ, you're dumb.
Wonder if Bekele and Kenyans have been consulting their sports psychologists?
