i've been looking for years for something other than iaaf tables
i may have got a start - just a rough, prelim start
input woud be appreciated
i'm going to go with what is "expected" 400 speed for various 800s & see what that gives for 1500 ( this method has usefulness for nearby race distances )
1'41.00
with say 45.0 - 46.0
45.0 ->3'28.08
46.0 ->3'24.68
mean = 3'26.38
1'42.00
with say 45.5 - 46.5
45.5 ->3'29.95
46.5 ->3'26.55
mean = 3'28.25
1'43.00
with say 46.0 - 47.0
46.0 ->3'31.83
47.0 ->3'28.43
mean = 3'30.13
1'44.00
with say 46.5 - 47.5
45.5 ->3'33.70
46.5 ->3'30.30
mean = 3'32.00
1'45.00
with say 47.0 - 48.0
47.0 ->3'35.58
46.5 ->3'32.18
mean = 3'33.38
quite pleasantly surprised that that gave some estimates which most woud probably have expected
like i said, just a start
any useful comments/modifications appreciated...
