The pressures off for him, he made the final. The final will most likely be tactical, with first slow 800M, unless Komen goes from the gun, which is unlikely in a final, which bodes well for Centro.
Centro is a fantastic tactician and he is fast, as we saw when he out-kicked Lagat at Nationals.

Komen? Are you even watching the meet? Komen didn't make the final. Kiprop will likely be the only one wanting a fast pace and he doesn't have the balls to do that like Komen does.
Man if we can get a double gold in the women's and men's 15 letsrun is gonna erupt. Then have Lagat win the 5000m. That works for me!

No, just wait. His cocky attitude in semi will get his ass abused in final. There is already talk of box in final among my African friends. If you act like donkey in the semi, you will get kicked in final.
I think Centro is good man and runner, but he will get his in the final.

If the Africans are really talking about Centro and have plans to box him there is something seriously wrong with them.
Centro isn't a wimpy runner like Solinsky. If the Africans want to play, they had better be prepared to get shoved back! Which Africans are you talking about? East only has one ETH, and KEN has two, but those two won't be working together. The two MAR perhaps? No one else has more than one runner in the final. This looks to be a jog fest from the gun with every man for himself for the final 600M. It is going to be exciting with lots of elbows flying and people getting knocked around. Expect to see at least one crash. Winner will be the one who is smart enough to stay out of trouble and be near the front when the crash happens.
I honestly think Centro has as good or better a chance as anyone to win this one. Handing it to Lagat in a kick at Nationals is enough for me to know he has the wheels to hang with anyone. I'm going with a medal for Centro with a chance of gold.
How this kid didn't run faster in Europe is beyond me. But man is he good.

I wouldn't be stunned if Centro gets a bronze, and I do think he'll be top six. A lot of big names didn't advance out of the semis. But to see him beat Kiprop and Silsa Kiplagat? That's a tall order.
I agree he is a medal threat. If the pace at 800 is over 2:02 or so, I think his chances go way up for gold. The Kenyans have fast PR's, but they aren't likely to be able to produce a 52.x final 400 off of a slow pace. Also remember, the runners coming out of the other semi had to run a lot harder than Centro's heat did because of what Komen did, so I expect them to be a little more tired. Might not matter, but it could. Don't count about Baala either if the pace is slow. He is also a good tactician and a very good kicker.
All three returning medalists from the last WCs are out (Kemel and, Mekonnen this round and Lagat by choice). Two 3:29 guys in Laalou and Komen are out too. Hit or miss Manzano who could've been a medalist or dead ass last like two years ago is also out.
If Willis is indeed hurting and Kiprop runs a dumb race like he often does - Centro could get hardware.
I think Centro gonna win in 3:27.50 breaking Lagat's AR for good.

Centro is an awesome racer. But you folks are making way to much of a semi-final "win". What Centro really did was qualify, which is exactly what he wanted to do.
In the final folks will be racing (unlike in the semi-final). And Centro will be mid-pack (no medal).
Then why wasn't Kamel, Laalou, Komen and Mekonnen "racing" their semi? you can't win if you don't make the damn final! Centro was in control and wasn't even all out and those guys were dying up the home straight. Yes it was a semi, but you can tell a lot by how guys look leading up to a final. I'm not saying Centro will win or even medal for sure, but you have to agree he looked as good as anyone else, and better than most over the last 400 in his semi. That is the mark of someone ready to run well in the final. Luck will play a big part in the final.

Whoah there big fella. I'm hoping for the best for Centro as much as the next guy. But take a look at the video again and note folks like Baala and Kiplagat during the finish - they are barely jogging. That wasn't a race to win. It was a race to qualify. And there is a big difference.

Not going to happen. At the end of the day, he's a 3:34 guy in there with a bunch of 3:30 guys. Not ready for prime time, yet, but watch out in the future.
