Jake Robertson Put Into 5000m Final

I am puzzled about his 13.22 alleged pb from Nijmegen, Holland. His other times do not add up, but, on the other hand, I think he had one good road race in Europe last year where he was close to some classy runners.

Did he really run 13.22? Any links?

I know he trains hard in Iten......but....

Well, it looks like he ran 13.32 in Nijmegen in 2010. Why is his time put down as 13.22 (10 seconds faster?). Did he come back in 2011 to run 13.22? There is no link for the faster time?

there is an article where jake made the his kenyan provincial cross country team, but turned it down to focus on worlds.

looks like a 13:10 guy to me.

If no one else was found at fault for his falls, why was he given a free pass into the final?

That guy was stumbling and tripping all over the place. Good gracious, he could screw up a real contenders race in the finals. Put some bumper pads on that boy.

There are seven guys in the finals who have run between 12:53 and 12:56 this year. I don't see the basis for giving a free pass to a 13:22 guy with an apparent tendency to collide with other runners in a pack.

I agree, Rupp and Cragg had to run their butts off to make the final. Maybe they should rerun the women's 1,500 final for Uceney.
