worst 10k I've ever payed attention to-- despicable, as far what I'd hoped for. Like all of us who post here, I'm not as fast, not as talented, not as able as the people I comment on. But here we are with a dud of a WC when the stage was set for something really special: where was Teg? Where was Rup? Why did KB even run? Why didn't Farah pull this out? A 27:1x and a nobody as the winner is pathetic in relation to our expectations for the race. I'm really happy for the champ., but I'm really disappointed in the race.
You are so negative and very unknowledgeable about distance running at the world class level. First of all, it was a great race (wish we could of seen all of it). Mo gave a great effort and did everything that he could, but was beaten by someone who wanted it more than he did (and/or was a bit more talented). The Ethiopians and Kenyans are amazing. Rupp ran a good race, but was not ready to run that fast at the end (marathon may be his best chance to ever medal at the WC/Oly level). Teg has had a great career (placed 5th WC XC at the junior level) took 4th at WC in 5k and has made numerous finals at WC and the Oly games. He was hurt last year and missed all season and is back to a fairly high level, but not able to get back and peak, etc. That is very difficult. I wish everyone was not so critical. Our American women are tough at almost every distance; Manzano and others are exciting in the 1500; Lagat will hold his own in the 5k, but probably not able to win. We have a chance to medal in the 800. People, these are the best in the World; try going to one of these and you may have a little more respect for the level of competition!!!!!!!!
