How the hell is this girl running D1? She ran a 5:49/12:42 in HS and has a 20-flat 5k (XC) PR (so I doubt the road time is legit). On her athletic bio her biggest accomplishments are finishing 7th and 9th at her high school district meet. As a runner in the same district I can tell you, it's pretty noncompetitive.

According to someone else on this thread she ran a low 18 5k road race... that is worthy of most D1 programs.
The team may have had a time trial and she may have trained a lot over the summer to make it. I was an 11:58 3200 runner in HS but upped my mileage a lot over the summer (was running around 80-85 miles a week going into my freshman year) and barely managed to walk on at my D1 team by barely getting under the time trial standard our team had.

This is the new norm in our young culture. Do anything on camera and you can get paid and become "famous."
I mean Kim Kardashian is the prime example. Sure her father was well know but she didn't "make it" until she slept with some rapper and sold the video to vivid. Somebody explain that #hit to me about why non-whore women would want to read about her wedding or exercise tips or diet habits, etc. after all she did was bang a black dude and now she is a celebrity.
