Need help finding a good school to transfer too???

Live in Colorado for a year and then you'll have in-state status.

Be a good student and do some research. Find the best school for your requirements. Don't expect to get good advice on the internet. Except mine, of course.

Come to Morehead State University. I don't know if you remember Amy Beatty from Ball State or not, well she transferred from MSU to Ball State and really missed all of the trails at MSU. She said she had trouble staying motivated when she could only run on the road. Needless to say, her only appearance at NCAA's came while at MSU. In Morehead we have over 50 miles of trails that are an option of any given day. If we somehow get bored of running near campus, we can always go to cave run lake where there are several hundred miles of good trails. Our school also gives in-state tuition to some out of state students if you have a decent ACT score. If you have anymore questions, send me an e-mail.

If your any good you should transfer to Edinboro great program headed by one of the best Coach Doug Watts. Edinboro is DII but competes at big DI invites. The setting here is rural so you can run on back roads all day without worry of traffic. We aren't at elevation but we do have several large hills. Tution is fairly cheap but I don't know what it is exactly

I have heard that Western State College has one of the lowest out of state fee's in the colorado system. They have more trails than they know what to do with up there and also most start right outside the gym. The running program is good and so to are the schools academics, small class sizes and very personal. Think about it. On the other hand any of the schools in colorado would be good for running. CU Colorado springs' prgram is improving, and Adams is always one of the best D2 programs year in year out. Just some thoughts.

All the schools you list are CRAP for academics. Piss-ant liberal arts state colleges. How many graduate programs does WSC feature? Try ZERO! Ditto for ASC. C.U. isn't Yale, but it's a damn sight better as an educational institution, especially at the graduate level, than anyplace else in Colorado. Running there doesn't seem too shabby, either.

Actually there are many great runs in Huntington, WV...smart ass. I don't run for marshall, but I have run many a run in Huntington. Ask anyone about the JCFR and they will tell you about a helluva run!

Haha, thanks for the back Kartelite. Actually, a lot of the top academic schools in the U.S. have no graduate program. A few examples: Amherst, Middlebury, Williams, Wellesley, Carleton. Granted, these are D3 schools, but they also have better academic reputations than some of the Ivies. And Princeton in particular is known as a school where undergraduate education is focused on more than graduate. What does a solid graduate program imply then? In many cases it implies that faculty doesn't give a shit about educating undergraduates.

I dont go to marshall try way farther north.

what im looking for is a school of good size and that has loads of good running trails.

Yes i have done tons of research on the net of tuition cost and what not. but what i want is to get some feed back from people who go to the college.

If you are from New York, try to slide into one of Cornell's in-state schools. You can even have Rojo as a coach.

If you are from Pennsylvania, look no further than the big dog Penn State. Groves is certainly old and on his way out, but the program is extremely consistent. There are always pretty decent people running, and oh man what a sweet indoor facility.

The academic opportunities are quite good at both. Not to knock on the smaller state Pennsylvania schools, but one would think there are more options at Penn State than at Millersville or Edinboro.

Unfortunately, if you are from New England looking for in state tuition, life not so good . . .

Alright, alright, fine. If you want to start comparing the academic prowess of Duke and a host of D3 schools to WSC and ASC, you're choosing to go out on a VERY thin branch.

What kind of times do you run? That would really determine where you are going to be able to go and what type of money you may get. I have a couple of schools in mind, but it depends on how fast you are. Post your e-mail so that someone could get in touch with you about possibilities.

Whether or not WSC is comparable to Amherst and Williams, the point is that a good graduate program doesn't necessarily say anything about the undergraduate program.
