I'm putting together a physics research project on the physics behind track and field. I was going to focus on the mechanics of the pole vault and javelin and maybe the long jump and hammer throw or shot put. If there are any physics buffs out there with worthwhile sources (books or web links) I'd appreciate it.
Basic Track and Field Biomechanics by Tom Ecker is a good place to start.
Also, i don't have the exact ISBN number or anything for it, but there's a book called "Mechanics of Track and Field" out i think that is very similar to it. Found it in my school's library a while ago.

Don't be a jerk. He asked for some resources to go to.
It is no dif asking for them here than if he went to a librarian. In fact, it was probably smart to ask here since this was a logical place where someone might know the name of a book to go to - and someone did.
BTW your post tell me a lot about you.
You might want to try Introduction to Coaching Theory published by IAAF coaches education and certification systems. great book by the way
