I'm 6'0", 165-170 lbs. I train in the Adidas Adizero Boston 2 and Marathon 10. I used to race in Mizuno Elixir 3 (last pair is toast) but I've gotten more efficient/neutral and I want to try a more conventional racing shoe. I'm looking to get something a little lighter. Our local running stores carry very limited stock for racing flats/shoes so I'm ordering online. Any help would be appreciated.
Look into the LunarSpider LT, very responsive flat with a tad more cush than the LunarSpider R.

Thanks but that's a bit more than I want to spend. I'm probably going to run in the 2:50's and I can't justify $160 for a 2:50. I'm sure they're a great shoe.
I love my Mizuno Ronin's. Weight is just over 7 oz. I haven't yet run a marathon in them but I plan to in about 3 months. Seems like a reasonable compromise between a heavier shoe and a super light shoe.
What I like about them is that I don't notice them when running in them. I figure that if I find myself thinking about the shoes when running, it's usually because they're causing me a problem.
I do most of my running in the Mizuno Precision and run intervals & races in the Ronins. For me that has been a good combo.
If you like the Boston, stick with Adidas.....go with the Adizero Adios. You can't go wrong.

If you feel comfortable training in the Boston 2, try the Adizero Ace or Adizero Adios -- both have a similar feel to the Boston 2 but are lower to the ground and much lighter.
I train in Boston 2's and marathon (sub 3) in Ace's or Adios's.

How does it fit lengthwise? And is it pretty firm, or does it have a little bit of softness?

If you are running a 2:50 why are you messing around with a racing shoe? Come to the starting line one pound lighter with some cushioned trainers. You will be faster and less likely to get injured.

Agreed that the Adios is a good pick - I do tempos and half marathons in those, as well as just basic runs.
As you're a small bit heavier than me, if you want a bit more shoe but still pretty light, the NB 833 was an old favorite. (Now it's the 825 or 826, or whatever they're renamed it this month, but hopefully they haven't tampered too much with a good thing.) Or honestly, just race in the Bostons!
The fit lengthwise is pretty true as I wear 11.5 in the Streak 3 and the same in both Peg and Zoom Elites.
The ride is more responsive/firm than soft but there's enough cushioning underfoot that it doesn't leave you feel beaten up after the run. I used to run in The Nike Marathoner a few years ago and found that I felt too much of the road whereas Streak 3 strikes a good balance between lightweight, road feel, and just the right amount of cushioning without feeling like you have too much shoe.
It also has a good snappiness to it at toe-off that almost feels like a mechanical assist. It's subtle but is something you appreciate when the going gets tough. If you get the chance, flex the forefoot in your hands and you will see this without even having to put it on.
