This breaks Ato "Golden" Boldon's 100m national record of 9.86!
How can this not even get a slight mention considering there's another competitor faster than Usain Bolt coming into Worlds?

I hear ya. But this is generally a distance runners site. Sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers get some mention but most of the love goes to distance.
No one trusts the times of black carribean sprinters anymore.
The doping is completely out of control, thats why. 4 athletes have just tested positive, and a whole bunch more are dropping out before worlds which raises a lot of questions.
BTW I think that Richard Thompson has always been clean, its also about time RT dropped a time like this as he has been world class for so long.
But the fact remains there is a huge drug problem in Black American sprinters and Carribean Sprinters. And yes, they should be lumped together.

The time is impressive. The question is whether it is legit. He had not broken 10.00 in 2 years and now runs 9.85. I'm not implying doping but perhaps it was windy or the timing wasn't perfect.
Just like some sprint people discount the Eugene sprint times, do you evaluate this one the same way? I'd love for some experts to chime in.

The official results list the wind of +1.0 for heat Thompson ran in, but IAAF has not listed the result yet (might not have been reported).
I wonder what the old stadium record was. Ato's national record of 9.86 was done at Mt. Sac.
You compare the results for athletes competing at a venue with results for athletes competing elsewhere, and if one particular location stands out--as in the case of Eugene--you become suspicious.
Look at the results for Aaron Armstrong and compare the times run at Port-Of-Spain and elsewhere:

Because most white guys have no speed at all. This is why, they keep run the marathon. They never run 30's, 60's, and all out 100's. If Richard was a white, they would have talking about it. Just my 2cent.

Sorry, no, we just don't give a sh*t about sprinting, except for hypothetical discussions about how fast certain distance runners could run the 400 meters.
I think they mention a guy who racewalked in frontpage people used to mock him yet he is one of the best in the country, but I usually see a lot of throw and jump news, a few days ago they made it qod an article about long jump.
Yeah, it's true that 99% of posters here don't give a crap about sprinting.
And why should they?
Sprinting is NOT running, and getting better at either makes you worse in the other.
