Agreed. doesn't seem like there's anything we can do about it. the masses love these races.
Easy solution. Stay away from them. I ran one once (they charged $5 for runner tracking at RNR San Antonio), decided it was overpriced crock, and won't run any more. Tons of good races out there that aren't run by competitor. Let them target the bucket list hobby joggers -if they want to pay $150-$200 to get off the sofa good for them. I'll never run another fro that company, they probably won't miss me, and I certainly won't miss them.
