Even been a riot in Ealing where I coach.
Not quite sure why as the average house costs £1m and I certainly can't afford to live there!

It's the grownup (I use the term very loosely) equivalent of a baby's "waaah"--meaning: "The world is not as I would have it be! I can't get what I want without effort! Things have prices and *I'm* [perfect, wonderful, *deserving* me] being expected to pay them!"
Trust me, when the sh!t hits the fan in the U.S., all of us Americans will suddenly develop great empathy for what the U.K. is going through.
Good luck to you, coach--you've made a positive contribution here for years, and it's appreciated (whether anyone's said "thank you" or not).
Wonderful BBC video probably won't work outside uk but you can see the text about how widespread it is
The only thing I like about the fact that Ealing is burning is that there's a high population of champagne socialists living there and it's as a result of their weak law and order policies that we're in this mess.
Keep at it Mr Cameron you're doing the right thing, the only thing you're doing wrong it not shooting a few of these little Aholes
Well there was a lot of riots under Thatcher but you are right about the weak law and order
I could clear Ealing of that rabble with 10 of my old mates from my home town up North but they are all soft down here

HA. I don't remember hearing this term before. Wonderful.
Champagne Socialists destroyed my country.
Don't panic I've found a solution.
Final nail in the coffin of a toothless government.
Probably nobody else can afford it either. Its unbelievable how so many people of all political persuasions see expensive houses as good. Low prices for a roof over your head is good. Debt that artificially inflates prices is bad.

From the Daily Telegraph;
00.24 Telegraph sources: Riot units from police forces as far away from London as Cleveland are heading south. Clearly the Met [the London police force] is calling in all the support it can get.
00.20 Twitter reports: A Wetherspoons in Lee has been targetted in a “mass mugging.” Police were rung but did not pick up.
00.16 Birmingham – police have made 35 arrests. The city centre has been over-run by gangs ranging from the age of 10, up to 50-strong. The Armani store has been looted. A man has been shot and wounded in Croydon, Sky reports. Shops along the Camberwell Road from Elephant and Castle have been smashed.
00.09 Wimbledon Guardian reports looters in Colliers Wood had to be rescued by firecrews after becoming trapped under the grill of a sportswear shop. In Chalk Farm, North London, the Guardian’s Paul Lewis reports motorists are being attacked with bricks, with shouts of “Who’s next, man?” There are youths in balaclavas carrying scaffolding poles. One shouted: “Let’s go rob Hampstead.” Countless shops have been looted.
00.01 Police have called in air support from Sussex and Surrey. Shops are burning in Clapham and Notting Hill. Cars have been torched in Fulham Broadway. The Ledbury Michelin-star restaurant in Notting Hill was raided and the diners mugged. There are reports on Twitter of people carrying machetes in Notting Hill and Balham.
The mistake was not letting foreigners in, the mistake was not integrating them.
The only good news is that these are not race riots.
Black, brown and white coming together to loot and burn. It brings a tear to my eye.
the next riot may be in fullerton california as 6 cops murdered a man in fullerton, like the arthur mcduffie riots in miami when cops were acquited of murdering mcduffie, southern california last had a riot when cops were acquited of beating rodney king, word on the street is if the cops in fullerton are acquited it is on.
Really like England, I want to live there for a few years during my retirement.
As in London, the same kind of undisciplined unresponsible thieves ran amuck during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. The LA riots jolted me into reality and started my move to become a social, economic and political conservative. But, the US in general has ebbed and flowed between liberal and conservative ethos and policies, as in the past. America is a free country, capitalistic and a democracy which means that we will continue evolve, change and improve.
I imagine the same ebb and flow and improvement will occur after the riots in England. By the way, with age, John Lennon become more conservative:

Why not? Let's just get bounced around left to right, left to right. Once we let go of our dualistic idealism we'll be better off. It's a tactic; recognize it. It's not "us" or "them" anymore. You've got to understand that we are being played by the left and the right. Everybody says, "the left is completely out of control, that's bollocks" so, they flee to right, which gives them the same old bollocks. At some point we've got to realize that it's a designed implosion.
Ideology doesn't matter; it's a concerted effort by those in control to keep us in a collective Monty Python skit.

As goes in France and Greece, so goes in GB. They've got to get their riot on.
