I'm also from Valparaiso and the local races she's running are pretty small time, no prize money. There no vetting of entries by the directors, just sign up and you're in. They don't even check ID at registration. $20 entry fee, you get a t-shirt and a few coupons/swag if you win. you may even get your name in the local paper on monday.
The race was won by a runner a in the Chicago Marathon Elite Development and second place is also in the elite development. She is not supposed to compete in any race that is a race. It's funny how the newspapers were following the story and then the band comes out and the newspapers don't print it. She comes from a very wealthy family and rumors are that the parents have threatened the newspapers. She has been winning a ton of races and never stays for the award or talks to the paper. If somebody is punished for something, they are supposed to do the time. Not keep racing and taking away awards that BELONG to other runners. She cheated, she got caught, and now she is cheating more. She has had one big supporter at all the races who gets her awards for her. That person knows that she is banned from racing and keeps telling everyone that the races mean nothing because they are small local races. Today, the race had over a thousand runners and so did a race she run in during the Spring. A race she did in Chicago had over two-thousand runners. Those are not small races. The race she stole $250 from was the Gallery Gallop. For this to not be a big story is mind-boggling. She was an ELITE runner, she got banned for doping, and she is giving a big F-YOU to the world and losers who want money from her family are sticking up for her.
Wejo and Rojo should be looking into this and seeing why a banned athlete is still able to run in races that are affiliated with the RRCA.
