Wondering if i've missed some news on Wheating. He was slated for 2 races over the last 3 weeks and DNS in either one.
Has he run in to injury problems? Seems like the guy needed to race a lot before worlds and it looks like he's only run one Euro race.
If anyone has news, please post.
And while we're at it, can it be that Solinsky will go into worlds with just his one DNF Monaco race. That seems like a horrible decision if true.
Andy scratched from the Monaco 1500 because of a sore hamstring. He is back in Eugene and preparing for the World Championships. I do not know anything on his progress healing or potential race schedule before Worlds although there was mention he should be okay September.

Sweet tempo is right. Its the the threat of injury not so much an actual injury that is keeping him out. But if its keeping him out of races I have to assume its affecting workouts as well. Which effectively means its a real injury in the every way that matters except that he is still tapped to run the WC.

Usain Bolt got injured last year from someone off-track event. Not sure what it was. Just guessing.
Solinsky was not an afterthough, as it kinda appears. was just thinking if he does not race at all from Monaco all the way up to the WC, approx 5 weeks, can he possibly be race ready? I would have thought this 3000 in England and a 1500 or 2 would be great primers for what he'll be dealing with in S.Korea. Wish there was an interview with him to understand the mentality and approach.

If the US had the depth Kenya has there would be no concerns about runners like Wheating being hurt.
You are absolutely right, our lack of depth makes us overly concerned about the couple of guys at the top. My advice to everyone would be to lower their expectations for this year, we only have one athlete with with at least a 50% chance for a medal in an event over 400m and that would Rupp. - I actually think Rupp has a legitimate shot at medal in the 10K, especially if BK is a DNS or not up to form and Mo and several of the African double.
