Let's be real, here. SIUEdwardsville is not even comparable to SIUCarbondale. SIUCarbondale has tons of trails/forest preserves to run on. I've done 95% of my summer running on trails, and I'll be going to SIUC this fall. The team actually does a lot of their runs of pavement though, so probably not your top option.
My advice to you would be to find several colleges that you are interested in, (have your major, appear to have a team you would fit in well with, etc.) and then ask the coaches what types of terrain the team runs on. Seriously... why do people ask these types of questions on letsrun? CALL SOME COACHES.
