14:20.89....much of it solo. I am impressed.
14:20.87 officially. This was an extraordinary race. A personal best, much of it on her own. OK, enough gushing out of me.
How long did the pacemaker stay in the race?
Some wind too, so not ideal conditions.
If you were Defar considering the 5k 10k double at Daegu, you might be a bit worried after seeing that performance.
Nothing more than a workout. Seriously fit.
vivian cheruiyiot is also running the 5 and 10k at worlds.
Jenny Barringer-Simpson should stick with the steeplechase. She is losing to 38 year old mothers over 5000m. Needs to go back to Wetmore. She is a disaster.

not required 3k
only kept 1/2 an eye on it & wasn't expecting much, but i think wabbit dropped out soon after 2k
that was worth possibly coupla secs
Some wind too, so not ideal conditions
windy for sprints & quite cool by then, maybe worth another handful secs
without going into uneven pacing consideration but just on lack of pacing/cool/windy; which diby/defar didn't have, i think that was near 14'15 comparative effort
i think she is within 5s off their absolute best, which is good enough for the win nearly anyhow it's run

Really? She ran the third best 5000 of all time and it was a workout?
i must admit, i wish she'd go for 1500 instead
i reckon a decent line of fit for her now is :
56.8 / 1'59.9 -> 3'55.6 , 5'20.6 , 8'14.7 , 14'13.5 , 29'45.7
( forget nominal 10k time - she's running that off 5k training - but 30'00 woudn't be a bad effort )
she can run upto 3'55 currently in a perfect race & that woud be a near guaranteed gold in a year where no one has gone sub-4'00
CERA is amazing stuff.
The real question is how fit Defar and Dibaba are.I think Defar is fit but not in the sort of shape she was in afew years ago.I reckon Dibaba is no longer motivated even though she still has the ability.Going to Daegu,my money is on Vivian Cheruiyot. It will be a tactical and slow race but i think she has developed and is now capable of beating Defar even in a sprint finish.
She did 6 x 1 mile on track recently off 90 seconds/200m jog, hitting all of them in 4.45.
Amazing athlete.
Vivian has the ability to run 15k and half marathon. I wish she'll move up.
Sorry but vivian will not beat defar. is the queen of kicking and the championship will most likely be a slow race
But Vivian beated Defar in lusanne and african champs.

why would vivian let the championships go out slowly if she can solo 14:20
Unless Defar can come up with something magical then 5000m worlds belongs to vivian cheruiyot.....Vivian has been very clever this season.she raced sparingly, avoided defar and dibaba but worked on her plan. All credit goes to Ricky Simms who seems to be honing up his world class athelets to be the best in their respective disciplines.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
