This summer I have been doing most of my workouts and races in the evenings (with a short jog in the morning) because I just feel more awake, etc. However, my next race is in the morning at 9 AM. I usually need to be up and about for a while to feel awake and for my legs to be better, any suggestions on how I could prepare for this? I've been getting up around 9-10 AM this summer too, and obviously I can't do that. I was considering taking a long nap in the afternoon the day before, then going to bed but making it a nap and getting up around 4-5 AM (if I can make myself get up..). Any other suggestions? I do my easy runs in the morning but I always feel better doing workouts in the evening... should I try to adjust?
