The last 3 minutes are on YouTube but does anyone know where I can find the full race? If anyone has it would they mind uploading it? Thanks a lot in advance!

Ask ABC in Oslo the summer of 1982 Dave Moorcroft's removed 6 seconds from 5k I came second in that race. I was socked with amazement afterwords.I thought I was lapping him but the stop watch clock it at 13:00 minutes.And," I asked myself what happen? "
Henry
Sorry, not paying attention there, just the last 3 minutes as you said.
In the closing stages looks like he lacks some upper body strength, he's struggling to keep those arms moving.
Imagine if he had a pace setter to 3k
Wow - I'm ready for my easy run now. Probably a little too pumped, though.
Yes, those were the days. A 3.49 miler finishing a 5000m in 13min00, with the last 800m in 2.00 and has trouble standing up at the end. That's how I remember feeling after races (tired). Now 3.55 milers finish the last 800m of a sub 13min 5000m in 1.53, with a big smile on their face. No problem staying on their feet.
Good for them...
That was AWESOME! That is my new favorite race ever. And second the guy who said at least he looked tired at the end, instead of the instant recovery we see now.
It is great watching that, a guy totally destroying himself and shattering a world record set by up to that point the most amazing runner the world had ever seen. Henry Rono, I see you commented, didn't you run 13:08 the day or two before?
Aouita was the last 5000 runner that broke (barely) records and looked like it killed him. When I saw Geb had run 12:44 and watched the video and barely looked stressed I couldn't understand it. Didn't make sense. It would never be the same for me following the sport.
I agree, put three pacesetters in front of Moorcroft that could have took him through 3000 in 7:45 on that day and he would have run 12:55. In 1982.

henry was unfortunate in set-up ( or non set-up mostly ) for his races in '78
he shouda run 13-flat that year with ideal pacing
just off his actual 7'32.1 / 27'22.47 ->13'02.2
however he ran that 3k off big -ve splits & was likely nearer 7'30 shape & the uneveness in that 10k made it more like 27'10 - 27'15
using those, back in '78 he was possibly in shape of :
7'30.0 / 27'10 - 27'15 ->12'57.6 - 12'58.7
he couda been inside 13'00 back in '78...
the interesting thing about dave in '82 was that like aouita, he had capablity of breaking the 1500/mile/2k/3k wrs in '82 off his 5k stamina
the wrs in '82 were 3'31.4 , 3'47.4 , 4'51.4 , 7'32.1
in '82 he ran 1'46.64 & 13'00.41 ->
3'31.7 , 3'48.6 , 4'49.4 , 7'29.2
however, that 13'00 was solo & with pacing to 3k couda been more like 12'55 & that 800 was in low-level domestic meet - i'm sure he couda claimed to have run 1'46.0 if he'd run 800 more than the once that year in a better field
1'46.0 / 12'55.0 ->
3'30.4 , 3'47.1 , 4'47.5 , 7'26.2
the 1500/mile records were on if he'd run them with long drive from 500 or 600 out, using his 5kwr stamina
for an example, see how morceli used his over-distance endurance to smash his own 1500wr from 3'28.9 to 3'27.4 with the long drive :
