Words were being exchanged between the two and Mekhissi tried to walk straight into Baala. Baala then got really pissed and basically headbutted him Zidane style (what is it with the French and leading into a fight with their heads?) Mekhissi then threw a few punches and grabbed Baala's jersey. An official tried to keep them separated but couldn't. Nick Willis, fresh off a PB and national record was one of the first there to break them up but they had already sort of split up.
I can't see how this sort of thing being tolerated in the Diamond League. One or both of them is probably looking at a ban or at least being shunned from the DL meets for the rest of the year.
